The Sandwell Morning After Pill Scheme allows teenage girls to get free emergency contraception at pharmacies throughout Sandwell and aims to cut the number of unwanted pregnancies among girls under the age of 18 years.
Under Sandwell’s MAP scheme, accredited pharmacists supply the Morning After Pill – known as Levonelle 1500 – free of charge and in confidence to young women aged 18 and under.
Girls seeking the Morning After Pill will only need to give their age and first part of their post-code for monitoring purposes. No information will be given to their parents, GP’s or any third party without their consent. They will also be given an information pack and a supply of condoms.
